Tempos Privacy Policy

Effective October 8, 2026

Tempos is a video-creation app with a social feed. This policy describes what data the app handles and why. Tempos does not track you, does not show ads, and does not sell your data or share it for third-party advertising or tracking.

Information we collect

Email address — used to sign in and to contact you about your account.
Name and username — shown on your profile and next to your posts and comments.
Password — stored only as a secure credential by our authentication provider; we never see it. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple authenticates you and we store only the resulting account identifier and the email/name Apple shares.

Content you create

Published compositions — videos you choose to post, with their thumbnails and captions, are uploaded and visible to other signed-in users in the feed.
Comments, likes, follows — stored so the social features work, and shown to the users they concern.
Profile photo and bio — visible to other users if you add them.
Uploaded songs — audio you deliberately submit, or the audio track of a video you start a composition from, is published to the shared song catalog with your account identifier and catalog metadata, after you confirm you have the rights to share it.
Shared looks — when you choose to share a look, its name, prompt, and style image are published with your username and shown to other signed-in users, who can apply the look to their own clips. You can stop sharing a look at any time.
AI Style and New angle content — when you choose AI Style or New angle, the selected silent video reference, source, style, or angle image, and prompt are processed to create the image or video you requested.

Videos you record or import stay on your device unless you publish them or deliberately submit them to AI Style or New angle. Saved style history is isolated by account on the device and removed with that account; applied compositions remain under normal device storage controls. Exports are saved to your photo library only when you tap Save.

AI Style and New angle processing

AI Style and New angle are optional and start only after you request generation. Tempos uploads their inputs to a private, account-scoped Firebase path, then uses OpenAI GPT Image 2 for style and angle images, and fal, which runs Kling O3 Edit and Kling motion control, for video. OpenAI and fal are third-party AI providers acting as our service providers for the requested app functionality; neither receives your Firebase user ID as an API parameter. The app discloses this sharing and asks for your permission before your first generation request. Firebase input objects are deleted after one day and generated cloud outputs after 30 days. Tempos asks fal to delete the media and results it stores within a day. Provider processing, including how long a provider keeps the media it receives, is governed by the providers' current OpenAI privacy policy and fal privacy policy.

Shared looks

Before a look you share is listed, Tempos sends its name, prompt, and style image through Firebase to OpenAI's moderation service, which checks them against content rules; a look it flags is not published. OpenAI does not receive your Firebase user ID as an API parameter. A shared look stays listed until you stop sharing it or delete your account, and other users can report it.

What we don't collect

No location, no contacts, no advertising identifiers, no Firebase Analytics product, no advertising or tracking SDKs, and no browsing history. The camera is used only while you record. The microphone is used only when you choose style-prompt dictation; Apple's Speech framework converts that recording into editable text, and Tempos does not retain the microphone audio.

Where data lives

Account data, published content, and temporary AI Style jobs are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage), acting as our data processor on Google Cloud infrastructure. See Firebase's privacy documentation.

Firebase service diagnostics

Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore collect limited, non-account-linked service diagnostics for analytics, such as information needed to operate and measure the reliability of those SDKs. Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Storage also send a Firebase user agent containing device, operating-system, app-bundle, and developer-platform information; Firebase states this user agent is not linked to a user or device identifier. Tempos does not use this data for advertising or tracking.

Moderation data

If you report content or another user, we store the report (what was reported, by whom, and the reason) so it can be reviewed and acted on. If you block a user, the block list is stored with your account so their content stays hidden.

Deleting your data

Delete your account any time in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This removes your posts, comments, likes, follows, shared looks, notifications, profile, AI job records and cloud AI assets, and sign-in credentials. Tempos also asks fal to cancel video tasks that haven't started, and discards any result that arrives afterward, before deleting their job records. A private deletion-safety marker containing your account identifier remains through a one-day safety grace and is removed by the next daily cleanup (normally within two days), or later if an outstanding provider cancellation marker remains. It is used solely to block late AI output, and a final media sweep removes it. Content stored only on your device can be removed with its in-app delete control where offered, or by removing the app. You can also email us to request deletion.

Children

Tempos is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Our Terms of Use require users to be at least 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
